There was an uneasy calm about the brisk evening air. Children weren't laughing, cars weren't honking, and hookers weren't scamming some trick out of another dollar. No, children, today everyones attention was focused on the heavweight tfc match that was going to take place tonight. In the spirit of Ali vs Frazier, Cowboys vs Redskins, Sox vs yankees, Oprah vs Jenny Craig, we had the slugfest between 404 and black plague. Coming in to this match, we knew that bP probably logged 14 days of practice, and at least 6 scrims to find such mundane details as how many concs it takes to move a battlements HW out of the way, or the exact caltrop location to cause the most bitching. 404 on the other hand spent the 2 weeks leading up to this match raping our various FTP servers and making an artform of IRC idling. But when match time arrives, the venerable d00d0r`BB(he co-founded BB with machine y'know) whips our sorry asses into shape, and he demands GREATNESS dammit!
On to rd 1. We started off with nada, euks, ice, des, and blur on D, with strider, dospac, 8ball, and robo on O. bP answered with some guys of their own. After a few server changes, we settled on the DD guild blackmail server. PM ends, and the obligatory scout rush...does nothing....I think......I dont remember any early caps. 404 started off fast nevertheless, pulling out 3 caps, with our D holding steady for as long as they could. bP caught on fire early/mid-round and we started trading caps. Ice tried demo but the mechanics of demoman melted his puny canadian brain. Our O slowed down some until, much like a true pugilist, we found an opening. When the smoke clears, 404 is up by 2.
We decide to stay in the same server for rd2, much to icemans chagrin, but his ping seems to have settled, as he played much better this round, as did the rest of 404. from start to finish 404 was busy working out caps. near the end bp decided to send 6 O, but with grifter being chased by his old HoS mates, there was no way in hell they were gonna get any more caps. When the final bell rang, a battered and bloodies clan 404 stood alone, victorious, with the PFL season 3 title belt firmly around our collective waists. Combined with our still standing TTT title, and our XLG(Xtreme Lame Gamerz league) 9 man mulch_dm title, and our SG-1 1 clan pipezone invitational title, we are the FIRST Quadruple crown holders in tfc history! GG bP!
