AFM over s2

AFM vs s2 II

Had the opportunity to play s2 for the second time in our clan's history. The first time, s2 pounded us on redgiant, and we were looking to return the favor on oppose2k1, which, incidently, is our worst map. In other words, #afmpriv was full of sniffling babies who didn't want to play the map. But the Fraggers put on their pampers and headed into our server for round one.

Round1: Normally our offense can't cap in a hatstore, but tonight, we had a pretty solid roster with the Ambigously UnGay Duo of Evo and Jesse as well as Jyplex (playing in his first AFM match) and Slots, who is playing in his last match for awhile, as he, like so many others, leave for home, from college, to the dreaded connection that is 56K. At any rate, the offense capped to the tune of 8 caps, which is the most caps we've scored in one round on this map. The defense held strong, only giving up two caps.

Round2: We headed on over to s2's West Coast Server. Pings were in the Stalker's favor, but no surprise here: they're a west coast clan. We decided that we were going to go six defense, which was a difficult decision, because we usually don't stoop to such tactics, but we've seldomed tasted victory on this map, and we really didn't feel like giving up this win on account of ping differential to a extremely talented clan in s2. We knew full well that the match could quickly turn lame on account of this decision, but, to our surprise and delight, it did not. s2 was as classy after the match, as they were during the match. Both teams capped once during this round, up until the three minute mark, when s2 began to pull out a flag. Our defense followed the flag the whole time. The flag somehow got tossed up to the third level. Time was running short. With four seconds left, s2 caps to take the round 2-1.

GG s2. Well played. Looking forward to the next, hopefully, on a different map.
