Dodge This over Exemplar Sect
Wow, a battle between the 3A titans! ES and DT are more alike than one might imagine from seeing them at first glance. ES was in STA Silver with DT until this past Monday when they defended the title to move up to Gold. ES had the top spot in TFL 3A going into the match. With a 9 and 1 win/loss record for the past 10 matches, and the fact that we are 0 and 2 on SD2, we were very worried about coming out of this match with a win.
ROUND 1:
DT started off with a quick cap, before ES started showing its dominance. At one point ES led with 60-20, and for those of us watching from the sidelines, we were worried that we wouldn't have what it takes to compete at higher levels. DT started to make a comeback, and at one time made 3 unanswered caps before ES' offense started to bring in more caps. ES remained dominant for the rest of the round, and the round ended with ES holding a 3 cap lead, and DT scratching their heads.

ROUND 2:
DT made some changes both defensively and offensively. We talked quickly about how they were getting to our flag room, and how to slow them down. We talked about their defensive setup, and how to exploit it. Then we substituted members who would be able to take advantage of the changes. We went back to their server because ours was having fits, and everything seemed to click. More than click, we turned this match on its head! The way we were playing that second round made me believe that we were invincible!

TOTAL: DT ? 220, ES ? 140
Final Thoughts:
According to TFL's clarifications on holding the elevator, seen at <a href=http://forums.tfleague.com/showthread.php?s=6ada8da65be3dd566ace49338d67d829&threadid=4563>TFL's Forum</a> we strongly urged our flag room engineer to be cautious about holding up the elevator. I have yet to see the demos, but I heard reports that ES's engineer was not aware of the clarification. With the dispute happy clans that we play with in both leagues, it is better to be safe than sorry. Otherwise, ES was a great team to play with, and provided us with an incredible comeback high that will take days to come down off of. Admins are disagreeing with one another, WTF is this.

and an admin said CORRECT. now this unnamed admin says that it's legal. Sickening.

I think the league caters to the O way to much. God forbid we make it too hard for them to get our flag.
I have read every post I could find on this rule and I still don't really understand the rule.
If they can't explain the rule clearly perhaps we shouldn't have the rule.

We had planned on holding up the elevator as well and 10 mins before match Sas pm'd me that thread. It clearly states in that thread by an Admin, that it is illegal to hold it up. Didn't have enough time to discuss whether it should or shouldn't be legal (as we think it should). So it seems to me the admins aren't even sure of the rule....

The problems in the past that caused such a stupid rule is clans would run an engie in the flag room holding elevator when it's 9v9. With only two other entrances to the flag room that leaves two guys on each. With the removal of one defender I see no reason to make holding the elevator illegal, hell it keeps the engie away from his gun.

If you take a look, DragonSmacker claimed he talked to Justice. Justice is an STA admin, not TFL. STA's elevator rule is probably different from TFL's (would have to look and compare for semantics). I don't think there is any confusion on TFL's part, just who was spoken too, and which league they were an admin for.

Sorry for all the confusion. The engy holding up the elev was my fault, and I apologize to both DT and ES.
However, when it comes up in STA, we know the ruling beforehand now.

LOL rasta , sorry DT for holding up the ele with a engie its a stupid ass rule on TFLs part to not let a MAN (if you call a engie a man) hold ele up htey dont do much other than hide behind a sg as it is i think its good to let them do something other than hide , sta has the right idea i think tfl and sta should hook up and make rules similar so theres on confusion most clans play in these 2 league but whats my oppinion count as GG congrats on the win and killin our F'N streak but thanx for keepin us in 3a we will get revenge see ya in playoffs or sooner :)
