RTL over NAR

Well, RTL had come into this match unprepared- We didn't practice, we used members who hadn't played for over a year, and the first time seeing the map was half an hour before match time. Needless to say, we had no idea what to expect...

Round 1:
After prematch ended and telefrags commenced, the defense stumbled its way into position while the offense clumsily tripped over their own feet in an attempt at sneaking away NAR's flag in an initial rush. Hopping down the basement ramp, I arrived in position in perfect time to see several of NAR's scouts grab our flag and laugh all the way to their cap point with our precious cloth. Three caps later, our defense settled, and our offense had managed to sneak out a couple of flag captures ourselves. Observing our confidence, Fate decided to kick us in the ass and give [RTL]Chem some technical problems, forcing him to disconnect. Sensing an advantage with our lack of a frontline defender, NAR floods our front doors with their offense, cutting through our defenses and coming out with several caps. Five minutes left: [RTL]X finally discovers where the flagroom is located. Fearing the loss, [RTL]Buns and his offense cronies turn on the hacks and pull out numerous flags to put us up by a single capture by the end of round 1. Phew. Score: 90-80, in favor of RTL.

Round 2:
Expecting a tough fight, as witnessed during round 1, we subbed in a couple players and modified the defense slightly. Fending off constant hard-hitting waves of enemies, our defense held true against the initial scout rush from NAR. Crickets chirped and tumbleweeds invaded our yards as the score remained 0-0 until- what's this? Lo and behold, the RTL offense pulls through and crosses the finish line with a shiny new enemy flag. Silently cheering as I dispatch the remainders of the enemy offense, I see a figure lurking into the shadows: A solitary blue medic wandering towards flagroom. An enemy spy! I think to myself as I prime a grenade and make my way towards the intruder. Releasing a combo upon the infidel, I see the Team Kill symbol in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. NAR's propaganda had apparently gotten to [RTL]C-W, for he was attacking our own base - that poor sap. Following the seemingly neverending WTF's and ROFL's directed towards [RTL]C-W's accidental assault on his own base, the offense slips out four more flag captures before round 2 finishes. Score: 50-0, in favor of RTL.

Final: 140-80, RTL wins.

Very good game, NAR! Thanks for welcoming RTL back to the TFC world.
