Writeup:

TNT over mM

take my heart and put it in a blender...

this had to be the most interesting/nerve-wrecking/adrenaline-pushing match that we have played in a long time. as if defending the title was not already enough, we decided to make it unnecessarily difficult on us, by trying out ventrilo on a new server ip and upgrading our old box in the process 15mins before the match. needless to say, the new version had a limit of 8 players and everything went downhill from there...had we done this 6 months earlier, this would have been a surefire loss for us. instead we managed to get two ventrilo ips up and just winged it

due to major lag issues, both rounds were played on mM's fine box -- thx for hosting the game! it would have been a lag fest on ours.

after round 1 started, TNT's DEF settled in, voice-comms were crazy on DEF, quiet on OFF; and yet TNT and mM were matchin' each other's caps to deliver a respectable tie towards the end. peat doesn't know how to read the time and announced the longest "30 secs" in tfc history. map ended with mixed feelings about what should have been done better, but was never executed because those responsible for the DEF setup hesitated...

round 2 was played on mM's box (yay...new server...errr -- wait). TNT substituted two players that had steam issues and the round started with pretty much the same DEF setup to trick mM into believing something actually changed. TNT held its ground until the very end and then decided to give mM a courtesy cap (ed: peat...mM pwned the flagroom, took everything and left nothing, so don't be an ass). round two ended with TNT in the lead by one cap. mM is a formidable opponent that would have won, if we had not been used to our usualy self-inflicted screw-ups outside of the TFC game engine.

thx for the match!
