M over nLv
We played nLv tonight for the 600th time, and as usual we expected to lose. It's pretty much what we do, in TFL, and we know our role!
However, something was different tonight...as I was assigning rosters, I realized that we actually had enough people to fill the positions I was spitting out! I was more used to our typical routine:
Me: So um...who wants soldier RR? You have to be careful to watch the top entrance, because meds can conc in through the battlements and attack you from the top ledge, so you should try and stand a little farther from the FR entrance to avoid getting spammed by nades.
HeaVyFiRe: It's just us, man.
So needless to say, I was quite please with the way this night turned out! Having more than 3 people defend the flag was a definite plus, in my humble opinion!
Round 1 started on nLv's server, and things got going quick! nLv got some nice throws on the flag, but due to my extreme ownage, I was able to cover for our Kuniva's slack, and we held the flag for several returns. After that, our O kicked it into gear, and by that, I mean they got one cap after like 24.35 minutes. If you know our shabby offense, you'll agree that one cap qualifes for kicking it into gear...which is a stupid expression to begin with because who honestly kicks their gear shift instead of using their hands? It should be like...pushing it into gear. Yes...our O pushed it into gear at 24.35 seconds. They followed that up a few minutes later with 2 more quick caps, while our D held the nLv offense to 2 caps total. Defensive MVP goes to Kuniva, for staying the fuck out of my way while I handled my business. Offensive MVP goes to Paladin, partly because he raped on offense, but mainly because he hasn't left our clan yet after roughly thirty consequetive losses. Round ends with M on top, 3-2!
We entered IRC, took a quick break where Lonestar read us some children stories (because that's about as far as his reading/comprehension goes), and we were off to our server! I would just like to say right now that OUR SERVER KICKS SOME GODDAM ASS. Having said that, the round started off much quicker than last round, with the M offense pushing the gear forward with their hands at a much speedier pace this time around. They managed to steal 3 quick caps from the stingy nLv defense, while the M defense held strong, mainly because of me. It was at this point, up 4 caps, that things began to go a little crazy. I noticed a very distinct change in our defensive strategy...namely that it disappeared completely. I would walk into our flagroom and see several nLv medics having tea up top, while M.zerowned served them biscuits. Yes...that really happened. I would not make something like this up. Defensive MVP goes to natters for being a girl. Offensive MVP goes to HeaVyFiRe for being a girl. Round ends with M on top 6-4!
Final score: 9-6, M wins!
