AFM over K}{R
Where to begin?
Tonight...well, tonight was a seemingly dark day in the long epic of AFM history. Tonight...we won a match at the cost of our dignity.Tonight, we smeared what was left of AFM's good name, and we wore our depravity on our sleeve throughout round 2. Our sincerest apologies, K}{R. As my roommate and I returned from my short trek to subway, I entertained the thought of playing O tonight on shutdown2 against the noble K}{R. As I finished eating, I nonchalantly approached my computer, preparing myself for the great internet battle at hand. I entered the AFM server, and surprisingly we had 8 guys warming up. A desire to deviate from the norm led me to join the blue team, offense, tipping the scales of balance against my fellow AFM D teammates. In any case, we warmed up, and I became accustomed to the O medic outlook in TFC. We turned our attention to IRC, as we headed to the K}{R server to begin. I was assigned ramp, and I thought that I would be able to manage, but I was gravely mistaken. Flurries of O scouts and O medics smoothly flew up the ramp powered by concussion grenades. For the most part, I was still in my O medic mindset, and was ineffective to say the least. The only comfort I recieved was the sound of that ever familiar 'Your team has captured the enemy flag,' as it echoed through my head.
Trying to adjust to the K}{R offensive onslaught, we placed Fusion on the ramp as I dropped back to the plank/FR to cover both areas. Fusion did a better job than I did, but their O still managed to relentlessy penetrate. Finally, we got into a groove, and managed to hold the flag for some time. Round 1 ends 13-6 in favor of AFM. The combined offensive effort of jyplex, senor, platypus, and Mastaflex was unparalleled by the K}{R O. We'd like to welcome MF back, and hope that this is the first of many more matches to come. As we paused briefly for the expected intermission between rounds, we decided to take jyplex out (by some idiotic freak of nature). He was replaced by the marginally incoherent 'Quebecian' Hard. The 'im a cucumber' singing jyplex that served as the voice of reason round 1 would be greatly missed round 2. Round 2 was perhaps one of the most boring matches I've played in. AFM was leading after round 1, so our O decided to fuck around, to put it bluntly, and chaos reigned supreme. We alternated Kappa onto the ramp, and I played FR. We let out one cap the entire round, and our O capped 6 times I think.
However, at some point during the match, we had O snipers, O pyros, and a flood of O spies whose only intent was to knife the closest member of the opposing team. Normally, I wouldn't mind much, but our O seemed to completely disregard the notion of TFC which is 'CTF', or capture the flag. Eventually, their O was getting knifed every run, something that we're sincerely sorry about, and wasn't making it to our base very often.
I think they might have had 2 O actually going for the flag, compared to our 0-1 O going for the flag, at one point. In any case, several K}{R members decided to leave, and things only spiraled downards from there. At that point, there was no real point in staying the full length of the match, but we felt compelled to. The final minutes of the match were characterized by excessive mm1, spam, yard dm, and AFM spies creating havok.
As the match drew to a close, we returned to our Internet Relay Chat, and we approached K}{R in their home channel to offer our 'gg' statements. We were met with anger, frustration, and outright disgust for our O's behavior in round 2. I tried to ease the social cohesion in the channel, but to no avail. I was eventually kicked, and so I left. No hard feelings, K}{R. GG.
Tonights roster:
O: Jyplex, Hard, Platypus, Senor, MastaFlex

Congrats AFM, I didnt think a clan could play lamer than "es" but you pulled it off. Apparently lame match play is now the norm instead of the exception. A tip for the leagues...either address lame play with some rules or just get rid of the rules altogether.

I think all of AFM has apologized now. We admitted things got out of hand and are sorry because we have had good matches in the past. Kappa has scolded us in IRC and warned us that if we play lame again against clans that don't deserve it, such as KHR, he will kick us from the server.
I dont know what else you want us to do?

Before you throw out a comment like "sandbagging" perhaps you should peruse our record over the last few months. We offered an apology for what happened, but you clearly aren't big enough to accept it and move on. See you next time.
