Round 1

These eo boys beefed up a lot since our last meeting. Unfortunately for them, I got all of the nLv boys taking Circumfusion about 4 weeks ago... and... well... we're unstoppable. Only a select few of us were fans of the Bases franchise, so we sort of moped into tonight's match and even gave some of our new guys a chance to get a little more playtime.

Round 1 was a total surprise. eo starts with 7, and then gets 8 only a minute or two into the round, and by halftime, they've got their 9. nLv pulls off to a lead by 2 caps maybe. we hold it for a while. It seems like our O is working just great until about 10 minutes left in the match, when I hit tab and ... HOLY SWEET SON OF CIRCUMFLEXION, EO IS UP BY 2!

We kick it up a notch and pull a flag to tighten the gap. 2 minutes left and yours truly pulls a coast-to-coast, only to find that he can't conc the flag to the bments.

On more than one occasion the eo flag spends at least 30 seconds in our yard, while our pathetic excuse for an offense tries to conc it up. them there ledges be not friendly to ye sailors.

We finally get that last flag in and thanks to a command center det by the funkster, close eo's lead in rd1 to 5 points.

A very surprising result! eo forgoes anything remotely resembling RR defense for a much more beefed up FR area. Amazingly the vent isn't working for us like it should have been. Nice job to their Defense on some good squeeze plays and holds - except for don chico, who is mexican.

nLv D starts off strong but something happens midway and eo starts pulling more and more on us. The round ends, leaving us with quite a bit to think about.

Round 2

Back in IRC we bitch kam out for not ever using his mic at all in rd1.

I thought you told me you had a mic, kam?
I do... i was using it that whole time... you told me it was working
...'

So we get that straightened out, and kam fixes up his mic problems. Fury also shows up after flexing his Circumflex to the Dorm Inspectors. They got mad at him cuz he didn't unplug his fridge. Then he revealed how big his Circumflex was, and they shut their stupid faces!

I end up sneaking a spot on Defense only to find that Sub has shown up. 30 seconds into the round I drop and sub comes in to play RR with Kam. However, this lovely marriage of Iron and Iron was not meant to lost. back in HLTV I see kam doing some really fucking weird things. Certainly not a result of the excessive doses of Circumfusion...

In any case, kam ends up dropping and committing proverbial suicide. I come in for him and show these eo boys how RR Defense is done! I end up embarassing myself, but through my lack of skill, I encourage the rest of our D to perform like the 18 point Circumfusion all-stars I know they all are.

Sub handles the bulk of the eo offense, while I take cheap shots at the occasional medic or demoman heading to the vent.

All the while, the new and improved (rage-less) nLv Offense is a destructive force of its own. I wasn't able to see what they were doing, but whatever it was, it was working like a charm. Metallix claims a few coast-to-coasts while Sid is terrible as usual. However, Sid has an enormous Circumflex, and that makes all the difference in the world.

i can't comment too much on rd2 because... most of it was spent in the respawn or en-route back to my spot. All I can really say is.... Circumfusion, baby... Circumfusion.

nLv comes back in rd2 with a vengeance.

eo definitely walked the walk tonight. They were talking on the cats for a while about how when we last played them they were still getting their feet wet as a clan and that even with our A game we would have a good, competitive match.

A spotless and clean match and much fun for me.
