TFCC has been on a mini roll lately, finding time to actually practice maps and strategies. This was a necessity for Yegar_Wig, as our previous strat held the flag as well as a leaky sieve.
Armed with our new strat we attempt to go to our opponents server only to find that the pass is wrong...five minutes later we finally get a response from their leader. Five minutes after that we are restarting prematch because they don't have 9 people. Finally at 9:45 they get 9 in the server and get underway. Things start out slow, slower than most of us thought it would be for this map, as each clan attempt to push the flag out through a literal wall of spammage. I believe we trade caps for a little bit, and eventually TFCC gets the upper edge with the lead at 40-30. Then my computer decides to take a dump and totally lock up. I get back about 5 minutes later, and the score is 50-40, and Soundman says that they didn?t miss me too much, but GJ to Monty anyway for covering for me. They manage to sneak one out in the last minute to tie things up at 50, so round one ends in a tie.
Now, since most of TFCC is composed of extremely nice people (myself excluded), we allowed them to use a ringer for the match, assuming they would be short otherwise. Then why do they have 10 people in the server with 30 seconds left in prematch? I guess it's just one of life's great mysteries. So, after asking them to drop the tenth, and getting some awesome comebacks from them, such as "Your mom," they drop their tenth (one of their rostered people) and we get underway for round 2.
Things were looking a little different this round, as DoA were getting touches, but unable to get the flag out. Also, the TFCC managed an awesome defensive stand when DoA got the flag to the water. The TFCC offense wasn?t slacking though, with Duck bringing back flags at about the 6 and 8 minute marks. DoA managed a cap at the 15 minute mark, but Duck extended the lead back to 2 with another cap a minute later. Another cap by Duck at the 19 minute mark was quickly erased by a DoA cap 90 seconds later, but TFCC's offense extended the lead back to 3 just 90 seconds after that. Spam brought another flag home a minute after that, and the lead was suddenly expanded to 4 with less than 8 minutes left. With 5 minutes left DoA took another home to put the round 2 score at 60-30, and soon after that, things just got crazy. Med dead, Scout dead, Med dead, Solly dead, Demo dead, Scout dead...a constant stream of enemies were flying into the flag room with nary a breath in betwee!
n. The TFCC offense took advantage while the defense just tried to hang on for dear life. Duck brought one home at 26:39, and less than 20 seconds later, Spam took one coast to coast to extend the lead to 5. The additional offense helped DoA's output, as after scoring just 3 in the first 27 minutes, they took home 2 more to give them 50 points. TFCC got a couple more in those last two minutes as well, taking us to 10 and keeping the 5 cap lead for the victory!
TFCC wins 150-100
I didn't hear any complaints about OvO, so I'll assume that DoA played a clean game and they are commended for that. However, like our last match with them over a year ago, they were unorganized and immature, something that need to be worked out. Overall it was a good game, even if it is a super spammy map.
Player of the game goes to Soundman for his second half score of -2 and 52 while still getting 35 kills. That's right 15 suicides and 23 tks, which puts DoA?s, demo 10 suicides and 22 tks to shame! (Really though, I used Soundman's mirv's to suicide myself, so its not really fair :-P)
And congrats go out to Suicyco for playing his first match as a TFCC recruit!
Participating: Duck, Unborn, Soundman, Spam, Suicyco, Validator, Keg, Monty, and Knock
