RoC over H2K in STA Silver Title Match
We went into this match feeling pretty good about the map; our win over NM last week gave us a good feeling tonight. The Predictions were against us, but the solid win made us think we could pull out the win.
We head into our wonderful server round 1, deciding to use the D and O setup we used vs. NM last week. This turned out to be a terrible choice for the D, H2K opened up a can of whoopass on us, by chain capping the first 15mins of round 1. Eventually the D started getting holds by rotating the D and giving up our demo for another engy. This move proved to be the turning point of round one as we pretty much held H2K for the rest of the round. Meanwhile H2K was playing musical chairs as some of them kept dropping and it went on that way most of the match. Right around the time the D started holding, the RoC O was capping quickly and pulling us close to H2K. The round nears the end and RoC?s O pulls it within 25. We fought hard trying to come back, but the round still ended with H2K leading 146-124.
Round two opens up and the RoC O wastes no time getting the caps going. The RoC D opened up solid and was holding fairly well. Things were pretty quiet on D for RoC even though H2K was getting some points pushing hard into our base. At about mid-match when DR dropped on D, the short-handed RoC D had to hold the hard pushing H2K offense. H2K was coming hard and fast into our base and was starting to get a come back going, thankfully about five minutes later Dr rejoined us on D and we slowed the H2K push. Meanwhile the RoC O kept the caps coming and just barely kept us above the very hard working H2K offense. H2K got a potential winning flag to our main door in the last two minutes and the RoC D held it there till just about the end of the round. Round ends in RoC?s favor 139-99.
