-459 over Rabid

Wow.. what a match! Remeniscent of old -459 vs Rabid teeth clenchers.

Both rounds, Rabid's O danced circles around our front door D (well.. one of the sollies at least) for the first half of the round. They always took an early lead of 2 caps before our O could even get any real flag movement. Once our O got a feel for the flag, they managed to catch up and, rd1, take a 1 cap lead. That, i learned post-match, might be because Kev was having some issues and was afk for a good part of the round.

Rd2 Rabid starts out with the same thing, pulling out the first few caps. Our O manages to start picking it up, getting some good movement.. but makeing a few mistakes (like failing to bhop across the catwalk and falling with the flag into the water.... gg Tercel <3) Someone else came in for Kev this round (part way through) so they could maintain a full D, but our O managed to pull out another 6. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for the W as Rabid's O worked our D over and got the Win rd2.

Overtime, back in our server. We decide to play conservative D because our D was getting worked. So, we put an extra solly on D to fill in the gaps there. Our 3 O hit Rabid's D and break through pretty well. AZero maked his way to Rabid's attic and abused the hell out of it, taking his time to kill everything in the flagroom and drop back into attic to resup, then grabbed the flag and, just as he was concing the ng managed to put a nade right behind him, knocking him down to the T. The other two O, NuMb and Fault, helped keep motion on the flag as they carried, tossed and conced thier way through T and eventually out the FD. Meanwhile, Rabid's O wasn't even getting near the flag.

So, we work the flag across the yard with Rabid's D and O chasing it down. Our HW, the lovable DoC, picks up the flag and runs it into the base. As he brings it across the FR bridge, with victory in sight, uBeR and NuMb rape him and NuMb comes up with the winning cap.

GG Rabid. Very close. That's the kind of match that reminds us why we play TFC. :D <3
