Writeup:
nLv over K}{R
I'm not sure if this match is worth much of a writeup, since no matter what way I spin things, I'm sure those select few special people in K}{R will find a reason to flame.
Rd1 K}{R had a few connection problems. nLv may have pulled a flag during one of them. K}{R ran a 5 D strat, with a swing engy building an SG in the FR. It worked well and the round may have been tied if not for those few drops. Lucky for them TFL has no max D, and maybe that extra SG saved a few extra from slipping out. Although on a map that's more defensive than monkey_l, I found it slightly ironic that K}{R ran 5 D, considering the amount of grief they gave us in STA for maybe a max of 5 OvO incidents. Uh huh, hypocrisy tastes yummy - but alas, it's TFL, so I'll spare anymore moaning on that regard.
Rd2 we decide to run the swing engy as well, since clearly the 5 D is only an issue when you have a match on the line and you're on the short end. I put my gun up in the FR and run O. nLv gets a lot of button presses, but very little flag movement. K}{R falls into the same boat, but gets a few close pulls to out of the lasers.
With both teams now running 5 D, it's pretty much a stale mate.... until!
K}{R adopts a 4 O engy strat, and occasionally has 3, or maybe 4 SG's up, along with the rest of their D. As they put it the 4 engies worked, which apparently made it legitimate and acceptable. At that point - though probably not as a direct result - things start to spiral downhill.
With 4 minutes left, they kill my SG (i think a spy, probably) and pull the flag to the RR. Not wanting a repeat of Monday's intense OT match, and with no max D to hold us back, we cluster up on that last flag. We move a few guys to D in the yard, since there are so many entrances to that RR bottleneck area. Meanwhile we've got our 2 backup engies in the RR, along with a sol and HW to guard the back. Some of our O starts chasing and OvO'ing in the yard as well - and for that I apologize. But complain about the yard D all you want, the map and the score warranted it.
In any case - amidst much spam and name calling courtesy of a few K}{R and nLv'ers, we manage to return what would have been the tying cap, sending us into yet ANOTHER overtime. The round comes to a close 0-0, leaving nLv up by 1 from rd1.
So...
Before you start calling us a bunch of llamas, remember - you complained about 5 D on monkey_l, then ran 5 D on shutdown_l before we did. You ran multiple O engies with multiple SG's before anything lame started coming from our end. We ran yard D to protect that flag that would have tied the match. We didn't do it the whole time. In a perfect world I guess we could have just given it to you, but alas, this is TFL :]
So feel free to cast more stones at our dispicable play, but save a few for yourselves, because you're far from innocent.
Final Score: 30-20 nLv!
clean match on my end - sorry for the OvO at the end of rd2, but like you said on monday with nLv anything goes! right? Have fun kiddies.
