GoW over BoA
Well tonight was interesting! Since the Super Bowl was last night we didn't hold a practice since I figure most people would rather do that (myself included). So we came into this week not knowing much about how things would turn out, other than knowing that we have faith in our players.
Round 1 was played on [BoA]'s server and we were using a standard mesa strategy. We were rotating and comming like no one's business and [BoA]had a lot of problems touching our flag. They got the flag down a couple of times, but never could get it out of the Flag Room. The one cap they got was when I was alone in flag room after they had destroyed the floor. I killed a medic, but a scout conced and ran out with the flag right as it happened. Oh, and for some strange reason, my computer locked up for a second, something that NEVER, ever, happens to me because my computer is a very reliable piece of machinery that I built myself. Anyhow, they got one cap out of all that, but luckily for Defense Offense was able to grapple two before the end rounded.

Round 2 was played on our server, Ishtar's Stronghold, and we felt confident we could do more of the same this time around. We were definately right, as we were rock solid for the first twenty minutes or so. We even returned two flags at our T, a feat that's extremely difficult to do on this map. Things got interesting at the end of the round, when [BoA]'s offense turned up the heat and started getting a little more push somehow. We adjusted pretty well, but right as we were getting set back up, BOOM, somehow my computer magically turns itself off. A very interesting feat, mind you, because there was no power surge in the area and ONLY my computer turned off in the room. This is odd to me because I play World of Warcraft sometimes in 8 hour sessions and although my computer gets a little warm, it never even comes close to shutting down.
It's very strange that playing a game from 1999 with outdated graphics and outdated sound effects would run my computer so hard it shut down. Man that's crazy! I wonder what happened!
Oh, yeah, not to mention that my computer shuts down at the most intense part of the round and that [BoA] is able to pull 4 caps in a row after I drop.
Too bad it wasn't enough to get them the win, as the [GoW] offense dominates their defense.

Anyways, I suppose its a convenient way to make an excuse for every cap you gave up, I might have expected it in a losing effort.. but come on guy, shit happens and we had to deal with it ust like gow did.

They aren't excuses milo, we won the match we don't need to make excuses. If your computer turned off on it's own you'd wonder just what the hell happened too. It would be different if this has happened before, but I've had this computer for over a year now and it's never happened. Anyways, it WAS a good game despite the gaity of my computer shutting down.

I can understand that FireBlade, except that I'm on Ventrilo literally every night for 5 to 8 hours playing World of Warcraft with my [GoW] buddies and it doesn't reset ever. Sometimes I'll disconnect from Vent and than reconnect, but nothing this extreme has ever happened.
