Writeup:

K}{R over DMS

Ahh, Scrummage! The grate texture produces a disgusting moir? effect, the entities are buggy, spam is ridiculous and lag

is worse, yet it manages to be one of the most entertaining, "different" league maps. Advice for future teams: K}{R will

never agree to change this map.

Both rounds utilized K}{R's Texas server. Latencies were slightly elevated compared to the usual for our server, but were

steady. K}{R used a naming theme, too: we were body parts, with the restriction of having them mostly non-vulgar. (It

didn't take; McVries has a distressing obsession with the male crotch, and that broke open the floodgates for Taleniekov

and MrBill to join him in his wretchedness.

Round 1
Most teams we face on scrummage seem to begin with a slightly suboptimal strategy, and DMS was no exception tonight. I

suspect that the map is played rarely enough that younger clans haven't had a chance to see it more than a couple of

times. Still, DMS put up a better fight than the score indicates; we lost the central arena several times, and only

managed to get two scrums.

K}{R 197, DMS 66
K}{R Roster: Taleniekov, Moon-Guardian, Tripwire, Tempest, Yam, sirVIPER, McVries, FasterthanYou, and MrBill

Round 2
In the second round, DMS made several adjustments. They ran an curious little thing with several demos at once; it was

distressing. This was a harder round than the first. At several points, we were in danger of being scrummed, and we were

feeling some stressful vibes on TeamSpeak. This worried me a little; we've had some bad experiences when people start to

get a little stressed, and I was happy to see that we managed to continue to execute our strategy, though we made several

small adjustments to account for DMS' adjustments. Really, though, the "most valuable player" award has to go to DMS'

best player, |K}{R|sirVIPER, who managed to teamkill me twice before he got any kills on the enemy and before I had died

once to the enemy. All told, he had eight over the course of the round. Way to go, [DMS]|K}{R|sirVIPER! Moon-Guardian

had an airshot, which he wanted me to mention, but self-deprecatingly professed a total lack of interest in airshots as a

demonstrable measure of quality play. Yeah, whatever. Nobody scrummed in this round until there were fewer than fifteen

seconds left in the round--K}{R's primary engineer, Tripwire, managed to get to the scrum pad just in the nick of time.

K}{R 157, DMS 86
K}{R Roster: Only one change. ChewMaster played rather than Taleniekov.

Overall Score: 354-152.

--Yam, a.k.a. Prolabium

P.S. DMS' shambler wants a shout-out from everyone's favorite TFC playing wegetable! So he gets one. It should be noted,

he states, that heretofore his last match had been in September 2005, which had some deprecative effects upon his skill

level. Such excuses are standard for the psychologically weak who cannot accept the fact of their destruction. (For the

record, I killed shambler only three times; he killed me three times as well.) <3

P.P.S. Yes, ChewMaster, I'm hurrying. I'll be in the CS:S server in a few minutes.
