WATCH MY FLYING GENITAL OF FURY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First I must start this write-up on a sad note: laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah? (sorry, couldn?t resist) But actually coming into this match I was rather forlorn, because you see our good luck charm, our beloved mascot, our cherished cherub, our lovable brown-noser, our holy hand grenade, our clan ?love? toy, our ?he-who-speaks-in-3rd-person? man, our?our?ummm?Canadian?AC/DC was not playing today! Today (well yesterday actually, damn I?m slow with these write-ups) was his two year anniversary with his blowup..err girlfriend (Take THAT AC!) Now everyone go AWWWWWWWW? Ok now that that is out of the way, on to the write-up! Round 1: [TDA]Grounds of HATES EAST COASTERS! Right after our practice (which we had a very fun time with Sandy Eggo Waffle, AKA Florence, and we would have let her play in the match if it were legal J ) we put the proper cfg on our server, and I stepped away from my computer to get my customary pre-match drink. Unfortunately, I found that the only drinkable substances in my refrigerator would probably make me go blind, think I was Richard Simmons, or both. Now the Richard Simmons thing I could live with, but it would be kinda difficult to play TFC while blind. So I had to make do with water. Bleh. How am I supposed to get a sugar high with plain old water? I mean sure all the minerals in it were probably helping my bones grow and doing my body good, but strong bones don?t really help you move your mouse faster. So anyway the task of getting my beverage took about 1 minute max. When I arrived back at my computer/reason for existence, I was surprised to see that KoB already had 8 guys on our server. Talk about punctual! They had all of their guys in before prematch ended. We however did not, so we restarted. During pre-match I had the honor of being killed over and over and over and over until I managed to spawn in the side with the water exit. I quickly swam through the tunnel and conced my bum up to the top area, where I spent the rest of the prematch swinging my crowbar/manhood. At the start of the match I quickly spawned and ran to the front door. By stroke of luck our scouts/medics actually were able to conc to the enemy side without messing each other up. My luck, however, ran out the second I landed, on a fresh bed of caltrops. I was pretty much toast after that point. With some effort we were able to pull out a cap, and after that we settled into a fairly steady rhythm of caps. Our D also did a very good job of stonewalling KoB?s determined O. I was actually afraid to heal our door defenders, because almost every time I tried, I was nailed by a gren or two. Despite KoB?s best efforts, our D was able to hold onto our flag the whole round, and only allowed a few touches. Towards the end, we decided that we wanted to ruin the game of TFC, and so we pulled the despicable tactic know as ?reverse-turtling?. We sent our Engy, Mr Cleffy, on O, and he actually had a few good touches. (That?s all the praise you get without paying mr Clef!) Scores: 120 TDA, 0 KoB Round 2 (Part one): East Coast KoB server of great (good) lag Even though KoB?s server was on the east coast (somewhere in Ohio I think they said) our mostly west coast clan pinged very well on it. In fact a KoB guy brought up the fact that it should be against the rules that the opposing clan pings BETTER than you to your own server. (there is something fundamentally wrong about being outpinged on your home server heh?) Once we got everyone in, the average pings were almost dead even. This round started pretty much the same as the last, with the exceptions that I avoided the caltrops this time and that my ping was so good (sub-50) that I could hand-held conc again! I was so happy that a couple of times I actually forgot about the flag and just conced back and forth. After we stole a couple flags from KoB, I noticed that none other than Mr. PainKiller himself joined the server. The server, however, had other ideas, and promptly crashed. Scores: 30 TDA, 0 KoB Subtotals: 150 TDA, 0 KoB Round 2 (Part two): East Coast KoB server of great (good) lag KoB quickly put their server back up, and we were quickly underway. This round was quite a bit more interesting than the last, with KoB switching around their D to have a greater emphasis on engys and a very good demoman on the flag. We retaliated by sending in more heavy spammers and spys. After a bit I made it into the flag room, and tossed a gren into it to make sure there were no hidden surprises. Actually there were two hidden surprises, both being friendly medics? After my unfortunate TKs (which Mr Virus actually didn?t bitch me out about), I grabbed the flag and tossed it out. After a bit, I noticed that KoB?s O was sending a rather interesting mix of classes, including pyros and snipers. Lose begged me to allow him to join in on the fun, and after a while I relented. Towards the end of this round, we decided to reverse-turtle again, and we sent in PHISH (who is really an O guy at heart anyway). Everyone looked like they were having so much fun, that I had to join in and play as Pyro. My ending screenshot had the burning remains of an unfortunate engy? Scores: 30 TDA, 0 KoB Final Scores: 180 TDA, 0 KoB Good game KoB, a very fun and well-played match! All in all, the most fun I could have without my personal AC/DC to bitch at?
