Enclave, what to say about this map? It is (for me) one of the most fun and frustrating maps I have ever played on. Capping the flag is extremely satisfying, however it?s the GETTING THERE that is so incredibly frustrating. That, and the astronomical choke
Round 1: [TDA]Proving Grounds/Match server
It has been firmly established that our server favors West coasters/ Northern East coasters. As such, our team had a definitive ping advantage over DO. Especially Broadbandgeek (very apt name) with his 8-15 ping. Despite this advantage, DO were good sports about it. We started a bit late, due to our team having too many people show up and them all wanting to play. I suppose that is better than too few at least! At about 25 minutes past 9:00 est we were underway. Our team?s O started with a flurry of bunnyhopping, and PHISH, AC/DC and Broadbandgeek distracted DO?s D while I conc/hopped past with the flag. During the rest of the match, our O did much spamming and blasting, and the sg kills were numerous. Our D did a terrific job of stopping the flag, then holding onto for as long as possible before returning it.
Scores: 154 TDA, 23 DO
Round 2: [TDA]Proving Grounds/Match server
Unfortunately, DO did not have a server of their own, so the second round was also played on ours, which once again put them at a disadvantage. This round started very similar to the last, with a blast of hopping and grening. A little while into it however, it was apparent that DO had adopted a more aggressive strategy this round. At about the mid-mark they were sending 5 to 6 or more O into our base. It took its toll on our D, however our D was able to still prevent most incursions, and our O faced a much weakened DO D. Towards the end of the match, our O had a few people at a time inside DO?s flag room.
Scores: 221 TDA, 38 DO
Final Scores: 375 TDA, 61 DO
GG DO, you played hard both rounds, and were very good sports despite our advantage.
To the people that actually enjoy reading lengthy writeups (yes all 5 of you), I am sorry, however today I need my beauty sleep. Oh one last thing, RoadRunner Cable is the Devil! Mr. Pigeons was sidelined due to his horrendous ping - and we all know everyone loves Pigeons
